Dr. Blackwood has been an ordained minister of the gospel since 1989. He was elevated to the office of a Bishop in 2015.

He is the bishop and overseer of several churches locally and internationally and has been counselling on a consistent basis for the past 20 years. His counselling experience covers a wide cross section of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Bishop Blackwood served as a former chaplain, grief, and crisis counselor on the pastoral team at the Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA. He is presently licensed chaplain with Chaplain’s International.

He holds a PHD in Clinical Religious Counseling Shepherd’s Care Bible College, Tampa Bay, FL., a diploma in Business Administration and Institutional Management Studies from The University of West Indies, School of Continuing Studies, Kingston, Jamaica, and a diploma in Advanced Biblical Training from Maranatha Institute along with a long list of other certifications.

Additionally, in 2011, he founded and established “Helping Hands of Hope”, an Outreach to young girls who have been sexually abused, educated but have no financial aid.

He also founded and created “Youth in Action” a Christian Young People’s Movement in Jamaica which has impacted young people across the nation and globally.

You may not know, but he served as a Police Officer from 1982 - 1996 Jamaica Constabulary Force, Kingston, Jamaica and received the “Most Outstanding Christian Award” Dr. Blackwood has a passion and is committed to counseling with excellence.

He presently serves as a Behavioral Therapist at the Beautiful Dreamers Behavioral and Educational Center. In this dynamic and professional position, he uses his God-given skills as an effective communicator and outstanding leader to execute solutions that promote empowerment, motivation, growth, and development. It is with a servant’s heart that he delivers on this passion and impacts the lives around him.

OUR Bishop is a marvelous husband to his beautiful Lady, Queen Esther, a loving father, a wonderful grandpa, a kind compassionate shepherd, and a formidable inspiring friend. He is funny, witty, personable, and very charming.

He is resourceful and creative. He is patient, sensitive, supportive, and caring. He is truly a giver! He keeps himself well informed, a keen observer but able to remain honest, positive, and humble. A brilliant eloquent speaker, he uses his platform to educate, inspire, transform, and challenge us to be better people.

Although not born on this American soil, God has grounded him, by giving him skill, intelligence, and knowledge, and the ability to use all these wonderful qualities to be an outstanding leader and role model.
